At an altitude of 3,000 meters on the border of the Plateau, a hiker fell and injured his right leg, suffering
moderate altitude sickness. Traditional ground rescue was hampered by the rugged mountain roads and impassable vehicles, while emergency rescue was hampered by the canyon posing a safety hazard.
